Dharmasamsthāpana is a blog and wiki dedicated to exploring value theory, moral sentiments, and ethics. There will be a heavy emphasis on Indian philosophy and juxtaposing it with philosophical frameworks from around the world. **Disclaimer:** This wiki is being built as I myself learn about the topics I discuss. I am not an expert on Indian philosophy nor is this project professional at any capacity. This is less of a definitive guide and more of a documentation of my learnings. For greater diversity, I will be analyzing both secular and religious schools of thought. This includes non-Hindu major religions and tribal religions. It is my personal belief that all people have the tendency of philosophical thinking, regardless of status or lifestyle. There is no monopoly upon reflecting about the nature of self, community, society, and reality. **Note:** All internal references to the blog & wiki will be "Dharmasamsthāpana," as opposed to the word "Dharmastapana" seen in the domain name. See [[Information#Note on the blog name|why]]. ## Definition The name of this website is based off of the following Telugu word with Sanskrit roots. > **Word:** Dharmasamsthāpana > **Roots:** Sanskrit > **Language:** Telugu > **Meaning:** the establishment of righteousness and duty I found this a fitting name for a website focused on disseminating philosophical knowledge with a focus on values, ethics and morality. Dharma is a widely used and known term even in highly westernized Indian spheres. The concept of righteousness is embedded into our moral discussions around the world. # Status **Currently working on:** putting up 2-3 blog posts and reading up on the basics of Indian philosophy
